Circumcision is pretty common in the United States. The numbers are actually about right for the country as a whole.

No. My family is Jewish, but my parents didn't want a rabbi/mohel to do circumcision because they trusted the hospital more to do the job safely. I'm pretty bitter about having part of my junk removed without my permission, but nothing reasonable I can do about it now. Somethings in life you just have to accept and deal with.

A proud no (atheist).

This forum's obsession with my penis is fascinating.

None of your business (Christian).

A proud no (atheist).

This forum's obsession with my penis is fascinating.

Message boards that have only guys posting in them are more likely to have twenty different threads about foreskins.  It's a fact of life.

No.

Personally, I think most of the uncut people who freak out about circumcision just watch too much porn and are bitter their dicks look different.

I don't know why you think the preference for defensiveness before rational discussion is one-sided.  Just look at this thread.

I also don't get why people can't have an abstract ethical argument without it being about their penis, and what they like, like their body or preferences were on trial.  This is the dumbest discussion imaginable when it goes like that.  When it's a reasonable ethical discussion, there's actually a compelling argument here, even if it's a relatively trivial subject (but so what?)

Dare I say, there are a striking amount of 'no' responses.

Male circumcision occurs at very high rates in West Asia, the ex-Soviet "Near Abroad" of central Asia, most of Africa and the United States, and predominately Muslim countries in Southeast Asia. The practice seems markedly less common in Australia, Canada, the Pacific region of the United States, and in southern Africa. It is otherwise pretty unusual to find among the peoples of Latin America, most of Eurasia, and on Pacific isles.
