Article from that fine (if sometimes, silly) publication, The Baffler on the now incarcerated Adam Wheeler, ex-student of Harvard (but not on his own merits except those of being very, very talented troll) in prison for saying that he had, in face, studied at Harvard. (I can write this, right?)

Anyway while I don't totally find myself in sync with the entire of the article's polemic, it is objectively hilarious about the details of Mr. Wheeler's fraud (best bit: Claiming to speak three dead languages and nobody having tested him - I mean, come on...).

Read now.

Like pretty much everything else in our society, education is a vile and dirty business.

At once hilarious and very, very telling.

I love the tone of the article and I admire the young man's pluck.

Wheeler is getting what he deserves, but the admissions officers and faculty who reviewed his application are far from blameless, and should at very least be relieved of their jobs.

Is the underlying tone meant to be satirical? I hope so. And to think he almost made it, you kind of were rooting for him. Didn't know when to stop, I guess.
