Despite a labor/netroots-backed insurgent campaign from Governor Snowstalker (D-PA), the establishment candidate Scott (D-VA) clinches the nomination fairly easily.

In the Democratic race, Scott manages to prevails by winning over the traditional moderate democratic base and the growing social liberal wing of the party. Tony manages to build a "class alliance" of working class whites and African-Americans (as well as some hispanics a a few nonreligious militants in the "Left Coast") but it is not enough to win the nomination.

The Republican Party collapses, and the two major parties are the greens and the democrats. Both parties agree on economics, so it is basically social moderates vs social liberals.

A close matchup between a libertarian Republican, Gov. Goldwater of Washington and a social Democrat, Sen. TNF of Kentucky. As the race got underway, Gov. Goldwater selected as his running-mate Gov. Supersonic of Tennessee, hoping to solidify his position among Southern conservatives and Southerners in general whilst facing off against a Southern Democrat. Sen.TNF chose as his running-mate Sen. PoliticsJunkie of New Mexico, doubling down on his economic-issue driven campaign while minimizing culture war rhetoric. In the end, both candidates won their home states by the smallest of margins, and Sen. TNF's 'Rust Belt Strategy' proved unable to gain enough traction to push him over the line, though it did help him hold both Ohio and Michigan against a strong challenger, and gain Indiana's electoral votes. Ultimately the race came down to the state of West Virginia, which went to Governor Goldwater by just 200 votes, cementing the race as the closest in recent memory. Sen. TNF conceded to Governor Goldwater shortly after a recount certifying the results of the election, working with the incoming administration on social issues and some defense-related legislation.

Congressman Oldiesfreak (R-Mich.), a representative of Detroit suburbia and the sole Republican member of the Congressional Black Caucus, defeats Senator TNF (D-Ky.) in a 270-268 electoral college squeaker. The race, which realigned the electoral map, was one of the most pivotal in American electoral history, with a left-wing Southern Democrat facing off against a moderate (if partisan) Northern Republican. Both campaigns engaged in strong partisan rhetoric, something readily reflected in the results, albeit backwards from what one might expect. This is in part because of Rep. Oldiesfreak being caught on tape at a closed door fundraiser decrying Southerners as "white trash" and "treasonous", a remark that led scores of Southern Republicans to denounce his candidacy and instead support Senator TNF. Senator TNF's running-mate, Senator Snowstalker (D-Penn.) made a likewise notorious gaffe late in the campaign when he was caught on the campaign trail saying that "President Pingvin's Russia isn't all that bad," and that "we should emulate some of his programs here," leading to swift denunciations from pretty much everyone for his praise of the Russian dictator.

The debates proved a decisive victory for sanity, as the American public agreed with Senator TNF's desire to not 're-fight the Civil War', with the Senator accusing the Congressman of 'playing into ancient American hatreds.' Congressman Oldiesfreak denounced the Senator as a 'Southern Socialist', something that TNF did not deny, further damaging his campaign. The Vice Presidential debate between Senator Snowstalker and Rep. Oldiesfreak's running-mate proved to be a massive route for Senator Snowstalker, who was caught trying to defend his words about Pingvinist Russia.

In a close election, the populist and protectionist campaign of Senator TNF of Kentucky defeats the establishment Democratic candidate U.S. Army General Mung Beans of California in a 290 to 248 victory in the electoral college.

Governor Goldwater (R-WA)-284 EVs
US Army General Mung Beans (D-CA)-254

In a reversal of roles where the socially libertarian Governor Goldwater proved to be to the left of the centrist Mung Beans on social issues, Goldwater won thanks to his victory in New England and the West.

Well, other non-American posters have posted in this thread too, one also mentioned they were an expat. But you're right, I would not be eligible, although I'd make a good Australian PM and American ally.

2016 Atlas Republican Primaries
While Cathcon, running on a socially conservative and populist platform, was able to take the Iowa Caucuses, in New Hampshire, Goldwater, running as a fiscal conservative and "maverick" (assisted by the endorsement of New Hampshire's biggest fan, John McCain) was able to strike a blow. Going into South Carolina, Goldwater had a momentum advantage and with no Southerners in the race, was narrowly able to take the Palmetto State (assisted by heavy support from veterans, socially liberal voters on the coast, and some local Republican establishment). In Florida, he scored another Southern victory. Meanwhile, Goldwater would rack up Western victories, assisted by his homestate and the fact that he used to have a Nevada avatar. Though a string of Southern and Mid-Western primaries would even up the race for Cathcon, he was running out of money and with victories in a number of key "big states" and momentum on his side, Goldwater claimed victory, becoming the first pro-choice Republican nominee since Gerald R. Ford in 1976.

Blue - Senator Republi "Goldwater Republican" Tarian of Washington
Red - Governor Cath Con of Michigan
