Early polls show a lead for Rep candidate Pingvin, but throughout the campaign, he commits numerous gaffes making him come across as bigoted, xenophobic and authoritarian. Even though I am also perceived as an extremist, independents eventually swing on my side out of scare for Pingvin (I would make some efforts to look more moderate). The margin is close due to high Pingvin percentages in the South, but overall the EC is solid.

Antonio V : 51%, 311 EVs
Pingvin : 49%, 227 EVs

Oh sorry. Well, skip me then. My mind just refuses to conceive a scenario in which Pingvin wins.

(what a dumb rule anyway: where's the fun if the winner is predetermined)

Would be a pretty funny election, I guess... Grin

Hash (I) : 54%, 223 EVs
Antonio (D) : 46%, 205 EVs
States where every voter commits suicide so that no EVs can be assigned : 110

This would basically turn into a liberal (Hash) vs populist (me) election. I would take the advantage in Rust Belt States where my left-wing style might make me a lesser evil compared to a "bobo" social-liberal. Hash would win in traditionally moderate States, the socially liberal ones and the ones with a libertarian or conservative streak. In the Deep South however, nobody would mind voting for any of us.

The election goes to the House, where Hash takes all the republican votes and a fair number of democratic ones, enough to win.

Vermont Senate Election, 2018

Antonio : 52%
Joyce : 48%

In the election to replace retiring Senator Bernie Sanders, democrat Antonio V pulls a narrow victory over republican candidate SJoyce. Despite Joyce's charismatic campaign and his moderate position, Antonio is able to present himself as the candidate most faithful to Sanders' legacy.

The previous poster is supposed to win.

That's a really stupid rule, and I don't intend to follow it. Let's make win the one who we think would win.

In a historical event, the Republican Party nominates its first African-American candidate Oldiesfreak, emphasizing the party's need to return to its historical roots as the party of Lincoln. Oldiesfreak enters the campaign with a comfortable lead over the Democratic nominee, Antonio V, who is perceived as a radical librul soshulist commie. However, a series of disparaging remarks by Oldiesfreak outrages the South, prompting the candidacy of a "Southern Pride" ticket. Oldies' support in the South completely collapses, and despite retaining a slight lead in many northern Dem States, he ends up third on Election Day.

Antonio V/Amy Klobuchar (D): 47.3%, 229 EV
Mike Beebe/Jeff Sessions (SP): 20.8%, 177 EV
Oldiesfreak/Sam Brownback (R): 31.9%, 132 EV

The election goes to the House, where the split is clear along partisan and geographic lines:

Antonio: 16
Oldies: 15
Beebe: 15
Tie: 4

After weeks of deadlock, a deal is reached between Southerners and Democrats (who control the Senate), and Beebe is elected President with Klobuchar as VP.

In the Democratic race, Scott manages to prevails by winning over the traditional moderate democratic base and the growing social liberal wing of the party. Tony manages to build a "class alliance" of working class whites and African-Americans (as well as some hispanics a a few nonreligious militants in the "Left Coast") but it is not enough to win the nomination.
