2012 could be the GOP's best finish in Alabama since 1972, which is ironic, considering Romney is considered more of a moderate and is Mormon.

Sounds about right. I think Obama will have a floor of 35% though.

Obama's floor is probably about right here due to the fact that he's guaranteed to win 95% of blacks and about 10% of whites.

Based on the CNN exit polls, if Obam gets 95% of blacks and holds his 10% of whites, that puts him exactly at 35%. That's not even including the Hispanic vote, so his real floor may be marginally higher.

Considering Obama lost it 60-38 in 2008 in a good Democratic year... I still think Obama got close to the floor then... I'm predicting 61-37 in the end...

No surprise here. Most Alabamans are ivy league educated, incredibly wealthy, and don't depend on any government services to get by, so of course they can just relate better to Mitt Romney and his plans for America. Yup, that's exactly what it is...

Of course Romney is going to win with 60%+, but I expect turnout to be down from 2008.

We know Romney will win whites by about 90-10, Obama blacks by 95-5, so the margin will come down to what the turn out is...
