The Political Compass is a total joke. Read the text below the various charts. They're basically awful Chomskyite leftists who think Dennis Kucinich is a Great Man and that the world is run by Je-- --international bankers.

It gets interesting when you compare their EU chart with their 2012 U.S. presidential election chart.

Look very closely, and you'll notice that the Cameron government in Britain is actually more right-wing than Mitt Romney. Tongue

I know right. Mitt should be closer to Victor Orban.

How do they get these numbers?  If they're actually going through the questions and trying to answer them as they think the people in question would, then they must be giving some strange answers to get some of those scores.

(I once did this myself with Tony Blair, and got a much more centrist score than they were showing for him at the time.)

The most telling thing about how not found of Cameron they are is that they put the UK just a point less authoritarian than Hungary.

Gary Johnson's placement on the economic axis might be most amusing though. And I don't know where they're getting Rocky Anderson being so economically right wing from.
