Is there a concern that if Romney appears to be losing when he should be winning that he will be abandoned as his support was half-hearted to begin with so real conservatives will vote with principal for third party or just not bother voting at all? Is that the reason for Drudge, right wing radio, Morris, etc to push this new 'dont trust the polls' narrative which has been going around for the last couple of weeks?

Otherwise I don't really understand the point of this.
