That is actually the world's strongest woman, Zhou Lulu

I like the OP, every so often sports can transcend politics.

The perfect example of what the Olympics was meant to do, to bring about world peace.

Huh. Why are most of the top women's weightlifters Asian? Is it the same for men?

And yeah, that is what the Olympics are all about. That and bragging to Chad about how many medals we have.

Not sure why that is but the weight she put up was just incredible. She clean and jerked 411lbs!!!

IIRC, the general area around Bulgaria, Turkey, Iran, Armenia produces the strongest big men. China seems to dominate the smaller weight divisions.

Huh. I was watching weightlifting, and there were women my size jerking 300 pounds!

Also, sorry I called you a man and Kim Jong-un, Ms. Zhou.

Yep, after a very long absence I just started lifting weights again several months ago.  I was all proud of myself that I got my bench press over 300lbs, seeing stuff like that certainly knocked me down a few pegs.  Never tried that olympic style lifting but think I would snap my neck trying that stuff- too many moving parts.

Dude, you got knocked down a few pegs by the best people in the world. That's like being Mitt Romney, looking at Bill Gates and saying "Hey, I'm not rich!"

What I kind of find hilarious is in the >75 category (why does the heaviest category start at 75kg for women anyways? Do they just not want too many women of Zhou's build on their tv screens or what? For men it's 105.) you get this 5'11'', 130kg Chinese Woman win gold, and then a 6 feet, 105kg Russian woman win silver, and then bronze goes to an 5'10'' Armenian of 77kg. What the?
