Oh Gosh, it's in only 6 days? Well, crossing fingers for Radonski. He might not be perfect, but at least he's not a megalomaniac populist clown with authoritarian tendencies.

I really like this subject. It's good for distinguishing who is simply very left-wing and who is simply crazy.

Kind of like Pinochet for right-wingers, so...

Haha, sure. To be fair, Lief does a far better job at defending Chavez than you do at defending that despicable human trash.

Let's hope your prediction is as good as the French presidential one last spring. Wink

Polls close at 11 local time- 10:30 Eastern. That's if they close on time, which I doubt.

Half-hour time zones are so ridiculous...

Oh, no, not really, I'm being somewhat facetious - I just think some people are overreacting. Chavez is more Mayor Daley than Joseph Stalin.

Yeah, I agree that some people like to portray him as some kind of totalitarian monster, which, as this election proves, he clearly isn't. The sad things is that these people are also likely to support real dictators as long as they abide to their neoliberal dogma.

I agree. Totalitarian dictators usually don't win by 10 points.

They tend to win by 20 point margins.

More like 80-90 point margins, actually. For those who even bother holding elections.

What's the difference between swing and trend maps ?

Trend is swing relative to the national swing.
