I'm more impressed with her Bronze Star and Combat Action Badge than I am with her sexual preference.

As it should be. Promotions should be based on job performance, not on identity.

We celebrate that we've reached a point in history where she can be celebrated for her job performance instead of seeing her accomplishments negated because of her identity. She could have been discharged two years ago for having a woman pin a medal on her in a ceremony recognizing her achievements.

As it is, I think she deserves respect for having to accomplish everything she did while also having to live under constraints of speech and identity not experienced by her straight counterparts.
