Winning the Europa League will mean something as of 2015. UEFA will announce on Friday that the title winners will get a spot in the Champions League. Since regulations run in three year cycles, the winners of the 2014-15 tournament will be the first to benefit from the rule change.

That's good. Hopefully it will mean teams take it more seriously now.

Yeah, like Spurs. It might be their only hope on reaching the competition.

De Laurentiis had to release a statement claiming nothin is official due to UEFA restrictions since the new manager hasn't officially been released by his current club.

In other news, Mazzarri is officially the new coach at Inter. Sad

Looks like plans for a new stadium for Napoli have been approved. I, like many, have mixed feelings about the team moving out of the San Paolo. Obvious emotional connections even if the stadium is a mess. Many like it that way.

Anyway, the new stadium will supposedly have a church in it. Not unexpected for the city that's considered the most Catholic in the world (if we aren't counting Vatican City). What a great place. Smiley

Coppa Italia Final right now. Reports suggested that the ultras agreed to a pact before the match but tons of weapons were seized outside of the stadium.

Well, there's always next year.

Not a great match from a footballing perspective but it did leave me with the surreal experience of being in a match were the fans of the team who got pumped 3-0 easily outsung the fans of the team who had just won the double. I'd always prefer to support a diddy team because if you don't lose winning means nothing.

Balotelli's name has come up in a money laundering court case where he is alleged to have dealt drugs while touring the infamous Scampia neighborhood of Naples. Mario's eloquent response via Twitter: "AHAHAHAHA, they said I used prostitutes, next time maybe they'll say I take it up the..."

The tweet was later deleted.

There are 2 Austrians in the German Cup-Final: David Alaba and Martin Harnik.

Good chance by Alaba, but the Stuttgart keeper was ready for it.

If we consider the ball getting anywhere near the box a 'good chance', otherwise it's one minor chance for Bayern after five minutes and one really good one for Stuttgart after nine, than nothing whatsoever happening for fifteen minutes.

Mourinho officially back with Chelsea and is apparently making Daniele De Rossi his top transfer target (good luck with that). Allegri staying on with AC Milan.
