I can't believe anyone here was impressed by Ann Romney's performance -she reminds me of an elementary school teacher.  And about as fake as Mitt with her attempts to connect with the lives of ordinary Americans.  The only aristocratic family that managed this feat was the Roosevelts, and no one else has come close -most certainly not the Romneys of the current generation.

I just find the entire idea of masses of people coming together to excitedly cheer for Mitt Romney, of all people, bizarre and unrealistic.

Governor Christie just delivered one of the greatest speeches in the history of U.S. political conventions.

One thing you can say about Republicans: almost all of them don't think it's okay to pelt black people with peanuts and call them animals.

I didn't bother watching last night's stuff. However, I find it amusing that the consensus on this board seems to be that Christie did a great job and that Ann Romney was bad and/or nothing special.

Why? Because the consensus pretty much everywhere else is the exact opposite.

I think everyone here agrees he did a good job, however, it is laughable when some call it one of the greatest speeches in modern political history. It wasn't even close to that,

It was not the best every, but it sets up Romney and Ryan to be forward looking.

The speech barely mentioned Romney.

Yes, it was. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think he should run for Senate in Alabama if Sessions or Shelby doesn't run again.

Obama's in '04 barely mentioned Kerry too.

I highly doubt that Davis would have switched if he had won that gubernatorial primary.

Here's the racially-tinted lies about how Obama wants America to decline from Turtleman himself.

And he doesn't seem to be aware that John Adams was a supporter of mandates.

Is anyone else getting tired of the "Obama says you didn't build that" rhetoric?

That intro sound sounded suspiciously much like Tom Sawyer, very much not an American song.
