Inks, when it comes to your time off as a moderator, don't go away angry. Just go away.

How does anyone have time to dig up all those old threads? There's a world outside of this forum- who would've thought?

Well, if you sort by thread creator, it only takes about 5 minutes.

Fair enough. It's still irritating to have to jump pages all the way to the Ks though, right? This forum could use an overhaul on the search capabilities.

I've never quite understood the moderator system on this forum - much different from other forums I've been to. Moderators shouldn't be here to police each board. Their only role should be to delete posts by socks/spammers as well as the occasional insult that gets way too personal and crosses the line.

To answer the main question, the moderator of each board should be someone knowledgeable and familiar with the board who also has good judgement, is dependable, and has a good record of activity, whether they've only been here for a year or they are one of the oldest members.

Thanks! And yes, this forum could use some Christ-centric moderation, which is what I'd bring ("Let he who is without infraction cast the first death point.")

Spare us this bulls--it. Now you're preaching how nice and lenient mod you'd make, but if ever assigned with this post, you'd go on the holy crusade. Every zealots do.

So because I have no infraction points, I should cast the first death point?

No, I would never infract anyone. The infraction system is a broken joke, something many mods have admitted to, hence many mods themselves have done away with using infraction points and simply deleting offending posts (basically using the same system I said I would), and almost everyone agrees that it has caused more problems than it's solved and most certainly hasn't resulted in a higher level of discourse than the forum had in the six years I posted on it prior to its implementation.

Two men on very opposite ends of the infraction system.
