Chief Minister Robert Saravia has given the final clearances for a Honda plant in Newport. By their estimates, 2370 people would be employed by the plant and 75,000 cars could be produced each year.

That's a lot when you consider they'll be exempt from import duties, but of course they'll likely be 175% of the going price in the US in addition to £1.60/litre petrol. Of course, the automotive situation has improved a great deal since McCrea deregulated the market, but owning a car will be outside the reach of most Goodareans as long as the LHD ban remains in effect, and even then there just won't be enough space for everyone to have a car.

Religious composition of the Goodaire Islands

'

2 -The number of non-religious persons in the Goodaires is said to be dramatically understated; surveys regularly show that up to 45-60% of the population is non-practising, and the census measures cultural affiliation, as opposed to  active belief, particularly amongst supposed adherents of Eastern faiths, who are also prone to religious syncretism .

They're what we'd call California's Channel Islands, except a British Territory. History coming shortly.
