No, but the point is that home invasions and rapes and muggings and animal attacks, where a gun will save your life/body/money, are rather more common than serial killer-style shootings. (And a gun is useful in the latter scenario too; you just have to be smarter about it.)

If that's "the point", I'm no more educated then before as to why this was on the US General Discussion Forum.

Sure, george, if there's an actual 'issue'. This was a guy defending his home. Who, lieral or conservative, gun owner or not, outside the lunatic fringe, has a problem with that?
