I have not seen Ryan's speech yet. I fear I might have a cerebrovascular accident having to listen to all those lies.
Umm, Nobody and I repeat NOBODY has found a lie in Ryan's speech.  Some supposed "fact checkers" (magically coordinated with dnc talking points) asserted that a few things were misleading.  Those claims are/were incredibly weak and poorly made.  How you guys go from 'a few weak claims of "misleading" ' to "all those Lies" is entertaining.  I mean it's funny... kind of like a clown, it amuses me.

So "Yes we can!" is now "Nobody could have done it!"  That's so, inspiring.
A comment like this is gold. Although in this echo chamber of clinton love I'm not surprised it was ignored.

Thanks, I had the exact same thought.  ...good to know someone has taste / knows a goldmine when they see it.

Mods, please ban and delete. This is sig-worthy; I'm going to have to make some room.

Yeah, apparently the only thing Clinton said in his speech that wasn't quite accurate is that Obama's health care reforms lowered costs even though they haven't taken effect yet.  Aside from that, those fact checkers had a heck of a boring night last night.

I mean it's funny... kind of like a clown

But enough about yourself...

The GOP is just mad because they do not have anyone to give a epic speech like this. they did but he passed away in 2004.

Not that they would have used him, anyway. They couldn't even use the Reagan hologram for fear it would overshadow their cardboard cut-out nominee.

I'd give it an 9.

In terms of rhetoric, it was amazing. It was succinct, organized, entertaining and passionate. Towards the end I was hoping they would just nominate Clinton instead. The great thing was that he used hard facts and data to poke holes in the GOP's claims. Usually this puts people to sleep, but Clinton did it in a way that was compelling, basically scolding Romney/Ryan and putting them in their place, which is what he needed to do rhetorically.

The only reason I don't give it a 10 was because of the length. I could see most of America kind of tuning out during the last few minutes. But we all know how much Clinton loves to work up a crowd so you know what you're getting beforehand.

what "hard facts and data" are you talking about?  He didn't really mention anything specific.  Example: "Things are getting better" How?  what is he talking about?  GDP is currently contracting, employment isn't keeping pace, unemployment has been over 8% for more than 40 months, more people are out of work than 4 years ago.  What possible indicator is he talking about?  If there was one wouldn't he mention it?

Than he says "no president could fix ALL the problems"  Classic Clinton.  That little word in there that you aren't supposed to notice or think about makes it kind of true, but no president ever in any situation ever can fix ALL the problems.  So, what is he talking about?  What point did he really make?  Obama the GM Matt Millen of presidents (amazingly good analogy).  Yea, the Lions weren't that good when he got the job (that's why he got the job), but shouldn't you accomplish something?  Shouldn't the team be better in some way overall?
I actually feel bad for Clinton.  He has an awfully ugly pig to put lipstick on.

Clinton is one of the most popular ex presidents in modern history. He's always a good guy to have on your side. Don't ever forget that.

And as far as hard facts, I was talking more about his criticism of Paul Ryan's speech last week, where he talked about Obama's assault on medicare. Clinton basically hit back with details on Ryan's budget. He got a HUGE response from the crowd after this.

It seems to me that you secretly know how good Clinton's speech was and you're a little scared.

eh not so fast my friend!,
I always keep it real and I've put together a pretty impressive track record as an analyst, so in all honesty Clinton's speech is hard to measure.  I haven't watched all of it (significant chunks and read parts, opinions on, etc.), but it really doesn't do much for Obama.  Yea it may be a good 'performance', but who cares?  Ronald Reagan gave a speech that's in the ballpark of the Gettysburg address in 1964 for Barry Goldwater.  Goldwater didn't win and perhaps shouldn't have.  That speech made Reagan look good, not Goldwater.  I suspect this is similar.  If Clinton was 'really good', than Clinton might benefit (perhaps Hillary), but definitely not Obama.  I'm trying to figure out if anything was good enough to be "scared" about, but I haven't found anything yet.
