10/10.

Clinton is still on fire and he's igniting the base!

Bill Clinton makes me very happy that Presidents are limited to two terms.

After many long years, J. J. is on the verge of hitting my ignore list.

Please.

BTW, some of the same criticism I made about Clinton's speech I made about Romney's speech (which I rated lower).  9/10 on substance with 10/10 on delivery is huge.

But yes, he cited Eisenhower.  He was 10 when Eisenhower was last elected.  Anyone 73 or younger was too young to vote for him.

The problem is the economy, and Clinton's statement was he thought it was getting better, but many or most people didn't see that.  That echoed my posts from yesterday.

One thing is for sure, contrasting with the RNC, nobody sold Romney like Clinton sold Obama. I don't think it helped Romney much that a lot of speakers barely mentioned his name and only offered tepid support.

Because the RNC was like a dysfunctional family that was forced to get together for Thanksgiving. Any sense of party unity was forced for the good of the election. Never mind the fact that the Party has been splintering for the past four years. Romney has to be the standard bearer for several different warring factions in the GOP, which cannot be done really.

The DNC shows how much more unified the party is in a general sense.

10.

He spoke forever and it didn't get boring. It was substantive, yet it was also full of feeling. He effectively skewered Romney and effectively defended Obama's accomplishments. If Obama can match this tomorrow, he's pretty much got the election sewn up. All that's left are the debates, which are not Romney's strong suit (but rather his empty suit).

9.5/10

Just felt a little long towards the end. But other than that, it was top-notch all around.

You must have missed the voice vote on amending the platform...

Are there any links up yet? This sounds like something I need to see ASAP. All reviews imply that it's equivalent to the Portraits of Past set at Dudefest 2009.

How common is it for the Presidential nominee to be at the convention before the day of their speech?

Wasn't Romney?  Didn't he do the walk-on too?

It was under extraordinary circumstances, but Reagan was in 1980.  Both GOP candidates might have been in 1976.

Watching it now on youtube. Sublime speech so far. We have noone that can even begin to compare to Clinton and Obama in Europe, when it comes to public speeches.

The democrats needs as many people as possible to watch this.

Bill Clinton's the only politician I know of who makes talking about stats and facts actually interesting. He's incredible!

Watched it on C-SPAN's website after I got home from work. It's a 9.5/10 and I'll round up.

I'm quite pleased by how little he blew himself during the speech. I mean, he did some of that, but not nearly as much as I expected.

And it was all in the context of "I inherited crap, like this guy. I gave good stuff to the next guy, and he turned it to crap, so don't let it happen with this guy."

Even though I can pluck together quite a list of Clinton's points I disagreed with, even objectively it's a 10. The man is still a better officeholder than any of the inane coprolites we have running on the federal ticket nowadays.

Very good speech. Bill is good at getting all that 'stat' stuff and making it make sense to people. Also kudos to Bill for giving praise to GWB. I don't think even the Republicans managed that last week.

Bill Clinton is All-PRO! He could read the phone book out loud and it would be interesting and engaging. The one thing I kept thinking while watching the speech is "Damn you, term limits!"

I'm shocked he didn't mention them not having Dubya at the RNC, especially compared to the DNC having their last President as one of the center pieces of the convention.
