Okay guys, I decided to do the Republicans and such right before the twist.

January-August

Senator McCain runs, he wins Iowa, New Hampshire, and the West. Congressman Kemp wins mainly in the Northeast, and the Midwest. Keyes wins somewhat in the Appalachians, and the South. Secretary of Education Limbaugh wins Florida, Alaska, Hawaii, and some of the territories, but drops out after not getting as many delegates as he hoped for.

Oh, and the Independents were hopeful to get a candidate in the race, so, they picked Ross Perot, and Perot was going to select Independent Senator Charles DuPont as the VP pick, but selected Senator Joe Lieberman instead.

It was just a tounge in cheek statement. In 1988 he was selected Secratary of Ed. Quayle commented on his choice in this TL and said that he wanted to get some humor in his cabinet choices, and picked Limbaugh. Oh, he continued his program and said in a 60 minutes interview in November 1995: "Yes my job does make it nearly impossible [for the show], but it is still nice to think that Quayle has me in his cabinet."

I know he is not that good of a pick, but I wanted him to be in one of my timeline's person's cabinet. Tongue

And Massachusetts is a Republican stronghold in 1988.

1. Idaho is swayed by the independents. But the reps come in a close second.
2. Massachusetts was swayed in 1988 because of a statewide democratic scandal. But it's mainly a tossup, or a leaning Democratic.
3. Thanks for the feedback Smiley

Except for in 1988 when Idaho went over 60% Democratic?
What did Quayle do?  Declare war on potatoes?

Sorry for the long wait guys, I just saw some interesting tl's as I was planning and other things got in the way, I just need to go back into my archives and find out what the rest of the story was...I'll just show the Evs map on Kennedy vs McCain and show the 1997 news...again sorry for the inexplicably long wait.
