Muslims protest in Cardiff against anti-Islam film

OK this is protest the right way, no one is being hurt or killed, but I have to ask: Why even bother protesting this stupid POS "film" at all? No one would know or care about it if it wasn't for the reaction. The Libyans may have been lied to and were told this was a blockbuster (though that it wasn't is obvious to anyone who watches the trailer), but this is a developed first world country where that should be common knowledge.

Interesting to note that from the 700 protesters, most were of Northern African or Arab background. Hardly any Turkish or Balkan Muslims took part in the protests. Maybe it had to do that the Austro-Turkish Muslims and the Austrian Liberal Muslims said they didn't want anyone to participate in the protests, because it's a "trap".

Any group caught up in a victim mentality will protest over anything, no matter how absurd that they believe adds to that sentiment.

There were also protests in Syndey last weekend, which turned violent.  And as Boris linked to, they also had kids holding signs at the protest, including this one:



After the protest though, the actual leaders of the Muslim community in Australia condemned the use of children as props in this way, and most of them said the movie wasn't worth protesting over.

Yeah I know most Muslim leaders in the US too have been pretty "meh" over the movie. Happening in Cardiff, Vienna and Sydney though is just weird since those are in western countries where it should be obvious the "film" is just the work of some dumbass trolls.

And why protest the US embassy any way? That implies the US government was in some way responsible for creation of the film, which is obviously not true.
