I honestly don't know what to do with this post so I'll just put it here...

It'd be hilarious if Mitt Romney became Secretary of something.

Better yet. With Patrick retiring in 2014, Romney will run as a liberal Democrat.

Well, Mitt has been, by all accounts, a liberal Republican, a moderate Republican, somewhat of an independent, a conservative Republican, a severe conservative, so why not a liberal Democrat as his newest embodiment?

Wait, did I miss something here?  Does Bushie actually eat 3 meals a day at McDonald's?

No, I think he goes to Golden Corral and Pizza Hut alternatively. Or to be very healthy, I think frozen burritos at home have been mentioned.

In San Francisco that's only about twice the cost of a cup of coffee...

He could also pick Victoria II.  He'd be honoring his great-great-great-grandmother, and it would shake things up a bit.  Brits like surprises, I'm told.

For the record I am nonwhite and gay.  So I am a twofer here and will criticize their lack of diversity.

How many Forum Moderators are women?

What do our forum moderators have to do with the House committee chairs?  That makes little sense.

They don't think the poor should have food and words.

The only response we're likely to see from Winfield here is something along the lines of:

"Well isn't it masterful to see you all discussing me at such lengths.

No, no, I'm truly unworthy.

You're all simply too kind.

It's simply wonderful to know that I am so beloved by you all.

Harrumph harrumph gosh monocle."

We won't get a straight answer.  Nor should we expect one, and much less should we care.

Actually the size of sandwich that BushOK described sounded very small - the kind of little wimpy sandwich one normally makes at home.  One of those by itself would be nothing.  I used to eat one like that for lunch in the US, but would always have a few chips or potato salad with it, and/or a bowl of soup.

Wildcard bet: Elena Kagan came out of the closet to her colleagues at that meeting on Thursday and made a strong case that people in her position shouldn't be denied the right to marry someone they love. The court is swayed by her personal appeal, and decides to use the Prop 8 case (and specifically, upholding the facts and decision of the district court trial) to unanimously legalize same-sex marriage nationwide as a basic human right. It'll be like Brown v. Board, with the unanimity of the court playing a huge role in the decision's acceptance throughout most of the nation. Kagan publicly comes out of the closet in the decision of the court itself, which all eight of the other justices join in a show of support.

I hate to quote Mint but...

in all seriousness, yes. in our house we have something that makes foot steps around 3-4 in the hallway outside of my room. nobody is ever up at that time and nobody has a history of sleep walking or anything like that. sometimes i can hear those sounds in my room. it also has a tendency to open my closet door and turn on my light late at night while i'm away at school. or at least that's what my parents and my sister's boyfriend have told me.

Basically correct, but BK fingered the wrong Justice.

It will of course be Scalia doing that.

Electing J.C. Watts the new RNC chairman should easily win the GOP at least 30-40% of the black vote. The black community is taking this very seriously, and if the Republicans decide to elect a token black ultra-conservative from Oklahoma to be their head fundraiser, it's fair to say that blacks will almost instantly become one of the foremost "swing" demographics.

Source: I live only a fifteen minute walk from the Apollo Theater.

It's perhaps funnier for me because I can attest to that last bit.

I think you put that in the wrong thread; this isn't the "Unfunny Cliched Jokes from the 90s Resurrection Goldmine."
