What I love about this story is every single player lived up to their stereo type.  Gun nut conservative dad.  Disrespectful liberal daughter.  Busy body neighborhood gossip.  Intrusive liberal social worker.  I was rolling laughing.

That's because stereotypes are real

Franken: 480
Oldies: 58

Franken pulls out victories in much of the Midwest due to illegal felons voting, and wins the racist vote in the South due to being a white Democrat (the racist party!) running against a black Republican.
How many times do I have to say that I am NOT black!?!?!?!?

Mr. President, I believe you legally changed your residency to the Pacific, if I'm not mistaken, so I can't count your vote.

I had a blonde moment... Considering how dark my hair is, that means a big cock up

I'm sure he would have voted Republican in the 1991 Louisiana gubernatorial election so he could vote against the racist Democrats.

Oh, definitely, freedom is horrible. Have you ever been to Subway? Christ, just give me the best sandwich you got, don't ask me to pick literally thousands of combinations of sandwich ingredients. Freedom is a blight on society, we'd all be a lot better off with significantly less of it.

Its been a pretty good day.  I went grocery shopping this morning and got some fresh food, such as fruits and vegetables and lean meats, etc.  I'm looking forward to fixing those this week.

Thanks for the grocery shopping update. I do that a lot myself!  What was in the etcetera pile?  Potato chips? Cheetos (damn those are good, and I get a pang when I walk by them, and I have not grab one of my hands that is reaching out for them with the other to stop myself). But I have been Cheetos free for about 6 months. Oh, the willpower!

The Hipster church has been hyped way too much on this forum to be hipster anymore. It's just a mainstream church that has a liberal worship practices.

A new SUSA poll shows these awful numbers for Christie:

Do you approve or disapprove of the job Chris Christie is doing as Governor?
Approve 38%
Disapprove 56%

Should Governor Chris Christie run for President of the United States in 2012? Not run for President? Or do you not know enough to say?
Should Run 15%
Should Not 73%

Compared to Barack Obama, would Christie be a better President? A worse President? Or would he be about the same?
Better 29%
Worse 53%
About The Same 14%

Compared to George W. Bush, would Christie be a better President? A worse President? Or would he be about the same?
Better 25%
Worse 30%
About The Same 32%

http://www.surveyusa.com/client/PollReport.aspx?g=5ef5275c-3166-493d-aecb-3d856c8705a5

I have a map in progress showing the ability of state governors to get good results for themselves. This looks like an outlier, and it is hard to see how Christie could suddenly become as unpopular as Scott, Kasich, Walker, or Snyder.
Exactly.  This is why I don't trust SurveyUSA polls in the first place.  Their first poll of Christie's approval had him underwater by  33-63% margin, if I remember correctly.

Silvio's moral lapses are allowed because they represent the core of our italian values. But I can see some of you jealous by his love and CONSENSUAL affairs with young laydies, being the majority of you nerds whose idea of sex is talking about the gerrymandering in Maryland.

Actually for the record I kind of did observe Lent last year, I went through an activity packet my church gave out. They just called it "Leap of Faith 2012" instead of "Lent", because Lent is too mainstream.

What's so funny about that?  The overwhelming majority of polls aside from SurveyUSA show Christie's job approval at an all-time high after Sandy.  Just because you may not like Christie doesn't mean that you can just ignore that.

The poll is from early 2011, and people are talking about it like it's new.
