Whatever.  Obama need not worry if its false, he does not need Iowa if its true.

And I don't think this is accurate, its probably tied.

Lets see what NBC/Marist has to say tonight.  I'll bet its the exact opposite, Obama +3

This may not be accurate, but there are so few polls to compare it to. Iowa is seriously under-polled for a swing state. Only about 10 polls so far this year.

What are the candidates' positions on ethanol? Unlike other Dems here, I don't have a hard time seeing Obama struggling in Iowa. It's a mostly white, mostly rural state. Not exactly Obama's key demographic.

Grassley lashed out against Romney a few months ago because Mittens promised to veto any extension of alternative energy tax credits, or something like that.

How is Romney even competitive in a state where only 25% of the GOP supported him in two consecutive elections and the party leadership is openly hostile toward him?

These polls are over the place. Better give the race some time to settle down.

The Obama campaign has spent more on IA per capita than any other state so they clearly are concerned about it. Polling has consistently shown it to have a bigger drift than the other states. And remember it was very close in 2000 and 2004 (when it went for Bush). It's possible that IA has drifted more R than OH, VA, CO and FL.

Rasmussen has Romney +3, but NBC has Obama +8. I wonder which one is more accurate? Don't answer that.

They don't seem to be all over the place to me. Most pollsters seem to be in  one place, and Rasmussen seems to be in another.

I have more faith in Rasmussen that NBC's stuff.  +3, however, is probably too high.

FWIW -- Chuck Todd from NBC said tonight that the NBC poll showing Obama up 8 in Iowa tracks with what strategists on the ground have been seeing and saying privately for a few weeks. Iowa is moving toward a lean Democratic state, after flirting with the GOP this spring and summer.

Maybe there was some positive afterglow from getting all the attention from the GOP in 2011 and January 2012, with no Dems doing the same, but now its wearing off and they are returning to form?
