The Absentee Ballot act
1a. All candidates wishing to get ballot status must declare their candidacy 4 days before the election.
1b. Any candidate declaring afterwards must run as a write in.

2.After this point any citizen can PM their vote to the Governor or a designated Representative, which will then be held in reserve, to be counted with the regular ballots.

As we all know, our region is facing an activity crisis, partially due to not enough people voting in our elections, and this act attempts to sort that out by making it even easier to vote.

Now I know this won't be some sort of panacea, and I wouldn't be surprised if only 1 or 2 people used it, but I think it's important to have it as an option. Also I'm not wedded to the exact implementation of it, I just see it as a starting point.

Does the governor post absentee ballots in the main election thread?

It doesn't look like there's anything about absentee ballots in there, Mr. Governor.

Ah. What should be done about this, then?

Right, it seems that this bill is kind of redundant (although seeing as I, and I'm sure most northeasterners didn't know of absentee ballots I do have a remedy in the pipeline). With normal activity levels I would want an earlier declaring date, as it gives voters a chance to size up candidates, and allows absentees to vote on an accurate ballot, but with such low activity I don't think we should be doing anything to discourage candidates. You can withdraw, burn or destroy this bill Alfred.

You're a good kid, Bore. I'll be nice to the bill and kill it quickly.

[The bill's scream is cut short by the sound of a gunshot]
