So, uh...

I have no idea what to do. I assume Dallas makes a statement or something and we ask him about stuff. What are the procedures for this sort of thing?

All right, then. We'll have a little questioning period or something, just to get a handle on this Dallas character, and then we will vote.

All Representatives have voted (that was quick!) and Dallasfan65 is confirmed as Chief Judicial Officer.

Dallas, you may now swear in.

I would like to thank the distinguished members of the Northeast Assembly for confirming me.

I will admit that despite my reputation as a venerable statesman, I am operating at a bit of a disadvantage given our new constitution. Over the next few days, I will be working to familiarize myself more intimately with its changes and departures from its predecessor.

The office of Northeast Chief Judicial Officer has always been one that I held in high esteem. When we were discussing eliminating offices as early as 2010, I cautioned against the proposition that we abolish the office of Chief Judicial Officer. Such an office allows us to handle our own conflicts internally, without deferring to the Supreme Court. (It ought to be noted that there are appeals, as we saw in UNESCO (sic?) vs The Northeast.)

My chief concern remains that I will be unable to exact the duties of Chief Judicial Officer in a manner that befits the office, though I will work to the best of my ability to do it justice.
