Your opinions of Henry A. Wallace, who served as Vice President from 1941-1945 and ran as the Progressive Party candidate of 1948.

FF for most of his life excluding his 1948 run, in which he was decidedly an HP for towing the Soviet line.

Wallace oversaw the inhuman agricultural policies of FDR, talked up gulags as a positive thing, thought Siberia was some kind of wonderland and in 1948 willingly allowed communist agents to work on his campaign for president. The man may not have been a registered communist but he surely allowed communists to use him and he also had marked sympathy for the Soviets.

Massive FF, of course. One may disagree with his agenda but I think there's no doubt he meant well and really thought he was doing right.

Wallace was a good man and his discussed here so prolifically mistakes came not out of malice but, perhaps, too great deal of faith in the others. He had guts to admit he was wrong later.

FF.  He was, at heart, a socialist.  His flaw was that he let the communists fool and control him.  But later, he did admit he was wrong to believe the things they told him.

FDR allowed for the slaughter of pigs and destruction of crops while thousands starved to death. It is mentioned in Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath that the Agricultural Adjustment Act of 1933 ordered the destruction of thousands of pigs and the burning of crops in order for landlords to receive fat government subsidies. The AAA also told landlords to fire tenant farmers and leave them without means of employment. If you do not view these things as inhuman I would advise you reevaluate your own moral character.
