In some ways, I think feeling forced to enter a world you're fundamentally unsuited for....

Sometimes I hear him tell a dorky unfunny joke and find him kind of endearing, but then I remember that he's spent his entire life profiting from destroying peoples' livelihoods and is running a campaign based partially on xenophobia despite the fact that he's a tax dodger.

I've got no sympathy for this out of touch douche who wants to increase the tax burden on the poor, eliminate social programs for seniors and the needy, and last but not least send other people's kids to go fight another unnecessary war.

Yes, actually. I know I wouldn't want to be in his position in life even for ~$300,000,000. Doesn't mean I don't dislike him as well.

Yes, he may have the money, but he will never have the power he wants to.

Absolutely not. He managed to become the Republican nominee for President of the United States with a record that, in most circumstances, would get you laughed off stage.

I don't feel sorry for Romney personally, but I feel sorry that he has to be the nominee for the Republican party at a time when it's tearing itself apart from within. No matter what direction he tries to take the campaign, it will piss off a faction of the GOP base and he will be blamed solely for their loss. But in reality, I don't think any nominee could unite the party.

Yes. Because unlike Mitt Romney, I have empathy for my fellow human beings, even the ones I don't know personally.

He is going to have his name enshrined in American history books -- perhaps at worst like Landon, Willkie, Dewey, Goldwater, McGovern, or Mondale. Such will serve his narcissism. He's got plenty of wealth to enjoy, and he certainly won't face legal disgrace.

Because of contemporary polarization of the American politics, there is no way we'll see such a landslides, whether Democratic or Republican.

In current environment, even the worst nominee (Rick Perry-lite) would win +100 electoral votes.  And Romney is still better candidate than Perry types.

Mitt Romney put himself in this position.  Politics clearly isn't the field he was meant for, and he was perfectly free to swim in his money pool for the rest of his life.  He chose the Presidency as his goal.
