There's a lot of talk recently in the US about photo ID's in elections (in Austria this is business as usual).

So, how does it look like in this Forum ?

What government-issued ID's do you have ?

I have a passport and a driving license.

Does personal ID mean a state ID issued to those without a driver's license? In IL and most states you can't have both.

I assume that photo IDs include both state and federal IDs. For instance I have an ID from the Dept of Energy and a users card for the Library of Congress. From the state I have a DL and two other state photo IDs from my places of work. If local government IDs count then my park district ID for the fitness center makes 6.

Muon, just check the first 4 boxes in the poll ... Tongue

(I assume you have a passport too ?)

Not in Germany. You're supposed to bring one just in case, but your voter notification thingy is quite sufficient.

As to the poll question, Person (State ID Card), driver's license, expired passport (didn't vote that one).

Well, yeah, here it's the same. Even though the law says that you have to bring the voter notification thingy and a valid government ID, it's usually only enforced in cities with more than 5000 or 10000 inhabitants. In smaller towns it's very common that the election commission doesn't ask for an ID because the election commission often knows a lot of people and all of them are registered automatically at the ZMR (centralized person register) anyway.

In Australia you can't use passports as photo ID.

Why ?
