Romney won.  Obama will still win.  So, I'm selling my Romney shares - a bit of a bump from them though.

Romney is showing passion. Obama is not. He is having an off night.

If i was neutral and undecided i would give Romney a second look.

Romney's response just then was the most powerful I have EVER heard him speak. Simply fantastic.

This. Romney did a little bit better than usual, but Obama was a little too dull.

This thread has made me grateful for the existence of the Atlas chatroom for the first time in its existence. What in the hell debate were half of you people watching.

Er... which half?

For the record, I always enjoy the Atlas chatroom on debates.

...wait, there's an atlas chatroom? Where?

Oh, meant the forum.

Romney would have won this by a fair margin had it not been for his exchanges with Lehrer.

Romney is exceeding any expectations I had held. He is energized, on message and focused. Seems presidential, & excited and proud to be there to boot.

Obama looks bored and tired. Taking too many long pauses and his rambles / vague stories seem uninspired.

Romney won by just a bit.

No mention whatsoever of gay marriage and other gay issues?

No issue of contraceptive mandate and other women's health issues in Obamacare?

This. Also because Romney is gonna lose in the Foreign Policy Debates.

That's in the third debate, I think.

I think Romney won with men and Obama won with women. Hard to say how it nets out, but team Romney are focused on white women as their key swing group. But overall, Romney probably benefits becuase he went head to head with the President and didnt light any cigars with hundred dollar bills.

But was this a game changing debate with a memorable knockout moment? (like Kerry/Bush 2004? or Carter/Reagan 1980?)

Slight Romney win for three reasons:
1. He was clear and confident throughout. (a little overzealous at some times, but better than the opposite)
2. He exceeded expectations.
3. Obama was off his game, especially in the latter half.

No mention whatsoever of gay marriage and other gay issues?

Obama mentioned Don't Ask Don't Tell being repealed.

Nice final comment from Obama (with a good little joke thrown in).

Slight edge to Romney.  Neither base will be shifted by this.  Content relatively equal, but Mitt gets the style points overall.  This should halt the hemorrhaging Romney has been doing of late, but by itself it won't get Obama to start bleeding votes.

I have made up my mind who I am voting for already, this debate was useless.

I am interested to see how Mittens will do in Round 3, he is not a foreign policy guy.
