I suppose I should ask the endorsement of the party for the eventual Regional Kommissær election in Midwest?

As long as there are not multiple Laborites running for the office or multiple seats (such as in a legislative or Senate election), you automatically receive the endorsement.

I would like to note, just an aside, I've asked Zanas and Barnes to join me in writing platform stuff, but Barnes would like a few days more of time for finishing up midterms, which I've no problem with.

With three running, should I drop out to make sure we get 2 seats, or try for a majority in Assembly?

We're probably gonna have two seats anyway, so you should stay in.

There's three Labor, one Federalist, and two Liberals running (you, me, Bore, Goldwater, Alexmanu, and HockeyDude respectively), and I'm probably going to win 'cause I'm me, and Goldy's probably gonna win because he's have the whole Fed establishment on him, so that leaves three seats and four people. Alexmanu hasn't done s**t since he declared, so you, Bore, and Hockey will probably win.

This isn't official at all, just a prediction of mine.

Crap, I forgot Poirot. He's a wild card - hasn't experienced a general election yet and doesn't fit ideologically with anyone. 40% of my prediction gone just like that.

Snow, Bore, and Hockey will fight for two seats, I guess. Hockey'll probably get one 'cause the Libs can focus on him, so...

You're forgetting Poirot, who, while will have a lack of 1st Preferences, could definitely pull an upset. Anyway, don't drop out, Snowball.
That coming from a rival is incredibly encouraging, thank you.

Ftr, Zanas has accepted, but has also asked for a few more days. Looks like we'll get to work on the platform after Christmas. Understandable.

On account of the presidential race, I am so far unsure whether Labor should back the Marokai/Duke ticket. Though Marokai is a friend and a distinguished senator, he has been erratic in the positions he's taken as Senator (including an effort to lower the minimum wage), not to mention his prior defeats in general elections. However, before any speculation arises, I shall not seek and will not accept the nomination of the Labor Party for the presidency.

I understand your concerns, but I firmly believe we as a party shouldn't force ourselves to stay within our own partisan boundaries just for purity's sake. My positions have been always been consistent with what I believe is the right thing to do, and for a President we should expect no less than that.

And the only reason we have a national minimum wage at all, I would like to remind everyone, is because of a bill I authored in 2009. Tongue

I think the labor convention should be held in a field in the beautiful town of Effie, MN.  There is nothing there.  Just like our economy would be nothing without the hard work of laborers everywhere.

If we are too comfortable, we will forget the hardships that people have gone through to win better lives for themselves, be it better wages or civil rights.

You'll need hotels though. And tents. And catering. And transportation. Can all these be provided, or would it just be a hideously expensive show of. . . what?

While a glorious idea, but per the rotation, the convention must be held in the Pacific.

Oakland. SF seems like a city that would vote Liberal.

I agree! How about a joint hosting of Berkley and Oakland?

I would say just Oakland would be best. It's a working-class city that could probably use the economic boost more than Berkeley. Plus it works well with Labor principles.

The political record of real world cities doesn't really hold over to Atlasia in the same way; I would suggest Boise for its beautiful scenery as well as the need for us to build a base there. California, by the way, is populated by the Liberals.

Oakland is a port city with plenty of minorities; I'm sure it would vote Labor Tongue.
