Apologies for my recent inactivity here, applying to college is needlessly time consuming! Wink

If our party wishes to run a candidate for NE senate, so be it. But I have already stated my support for Governor Nix, and there is where my support shall stay, at the moment. Here is a list of NE endorsements:

Senate:
Nix

Governor:
Scott

Assembly:
Our party candidates

Of course, others running for assembly might request our endorsement, but at the moment I am not aware of any that have.

I expected the results for president failry quickly - we had nice turnout, but our voters were unable to hold the party line; understandable in this election with Napoleon being such a popular candidate, but I believe the politburo should look into ways to improve our whip in the interrgnum between elections.

All in all, we showed our effectivness as voters - but not perhaps as a voting block. Grin

This got me thinking that it would be rather fun to publish a list of core party principles (to be debated and voted on here) that would embody the mission and spirit of the Labor party, but wait until each federal election (or perhaps just presidential elections) to publish our own manifesto - it would be in keeping with the "labor tradition"! Precisely.  We basically have this already, but we should refine them and have a vote on all of them to bring it up-to-date.  Each manifesto would go into great detail (such as the 'UK example) and lay out Labor's plan if elected to government.

Thank you, Spamage for your nicely-presented manefesto (sorry, I went all Labor in you Tongue). I'm sure we will all examine it and consider your request for an endorsement. Smiley

I would like to request the Labor Party's endorsement in the upcoming December At-Large Senate election.

Just wanted to be sure that this wasn't forgotten Smiley

We haven't. The party would encourage all those seeking an endorsement to post a statement of consideration in a similar style like Spamage. Smiley

Also, I would like to ask our GenSec to make up a voting scheme for the next At-large Senate election : we are running two candidates, and I think it is of the utmost importance that we get both elected, as the forces of reaction are in movement here and there. So we have to be very specific and clear to our voters on how they should vote to get this result.

We should set up a thread titled in capitalized letters a few days before the election opens, and maintain it saying at any time how the next Labor ballot should be cast. And, by the way, when is this election coming up exactly ?
Your concerns will be noted, Zanas. Following this election, I will present proposals to the party to help further streamline our voting system.  However, we do send out PM reminders before the election starts. Wink

The election will be held this weekend, by the way.

So the general rule is first pref the labor with the least first pref. and second pref the other then vote based on endorsements and personal pref.

Pretty much.

I would encourage all party members to monitor the election trackers that are in operation around here during elections to know exactly where there votes would help the most. Wink

And preferably to not vote immediately when the polls open and instead wait a little and see how the results are stacking up so you can tell where you vote will be most effective, no?

That has been done by many in the past, and is certainly an option - however, the choice lies with every individual voter. Smiley

I think the labor convention should be held in a field in the beautiful town of Effie, MN.  There is nothing there.  Just like our economy would be nothing without the hard work of laborers everywhere.

If we are too comfortable, we will forget the hardships that people have gone through to win better lives for themselves, be it better wages or civil rights.

While a glorious idea, but per the rotation, the convention must be held in the Pacific.

The political record of real world cities doesn't really hold over to Atlasia in the same way; I would suggest Boise for its beautiful scenery as well as the need for us to build a base there. California, by the way, is populated by the Liberals.

You will, of course, have the Labor Party's automatic endorsement. Smiley
