I'd like a president that talks to a scientist for an hour every Sunday.

Does it matter what kind of scientist?

Yes. A man without a moral compass has no business as the leader of the free World.

There is morality without religion.

Not only that, but he should follow along with the liturgy and pay attention to the sermon as well, and if he gets cranky, a Quiet Room is located across the narthex. Sunday School wouldn't hurt either.

I'd certainly like it, but it's their choice (especially if they've got some sort of national security meeting or some such thing).

Your religious?

Any half-decent president could find a better use of five hours on a Sunday than sitting in a room reading fiction and getting preached to.

Most of what's read in church services is actually poetry of some kind or another (including prose poems), not fiction. Is the idea that church services last five hours a meme now?

Should the President of the United States go to church evey Sunday?

If he is so inclined, then yes.  I don't think it appropriate is for the family research council, or for us, to make such decisions for him.

Yes, which is why I'd appreciate it, but it's not a major priority for me and it's not something I either vote on or believe should be dictated by anyone other than the President himself.

I was curious about this Coptic thing, so I looked up Coptic churches in my area (turns out there is only one, in St. Paul) and sure enough they list their "divine liturgy" as lasting from 8AM-noon on Sundays, four hours. I'm a little curious now with an inkling to check it out except I have a feeling I'd be bored, would be out of place since I wouldn't know what's going on, and don't want to get up before 8AM anyway, so I probably won't.

I am not religious at all, and I actually think many religious people are hypocrites and immoral, but I have a friend who is a pastor and he truly believes in what he does, so I think he should do whatever he wants.
OTOH I don't like politicians who are agnostic but claim to be "Christian" to get elected.
