God, it would be terrible if the sanctity of Presidential debates was destroyed by the introduction of fre-fabbed, rehearsed talking points.

Perhaps if they did allow them to bring in notes, it would improve the substance.

Gingrich in 2007, "I don't care if they bring a binder".

No kidding!  Open-book test.  Awesome.  Bring your advisors too.

Oh sorry, somewhere I got the idea they were "debating issues". Forgive me, I forgot that this is tail and pony show about optics, substanceless talking points and looking to see who has the biggest gaffe or memory fail. Roll Eyes

No, man, I wasn't being facetious at all.  I am all for that.  What the hell are the debates even trying to emulate?  I'd rather see them communicating and making decisions in a remotely realistic context.  The current debate format is completely stupid.

I mean damn it, it says something that we are designing and orchestrating these stupid debates with High Midterm/College Final mentality. How ridiculous! These men are both Harvard Grads, we don't need to test their intellect on public television, we need to find out how they plan to save the country. If they are stupid, they won't be able to hide it no matter how much supporting documentation they bring.

Yeah, let's talk about this monster named Romney who wants to see babies and seniors suffer on the streets. Then when the monster does not show up in a substantive debate, let's twist "I love Big Bird" into "Big Bird, You're Fired!"

Liberals cling to an image of Romney that is merely a figment of their imagination (an image that they were fooled into believing because of clever work by Obama's ruthless Chicago guys). Meanwhile, America burns while Nero just reads his teleprompter...

So Mitt Romney just can't play by the rules, why is it that the 1%ers think they are better than the rest of us?

Yes, Romney sneaking notes definitely explains why Obama just didn't seem to care about debating. Come on, guys.
