I think David is best described as a cross between the guy from Braveheart, Edward Cullen and that hot guy who leads Hillsong United.

I don't see anything particularly astounding about either of these quotes.  Have people just never been to a liberal Protestant church before? Sad

There's 'liberal' and then there's calling people 'hot' and talking about the 'guy from Braveheart' in sermons.

Well according to oakvale and belgian in IRC no one in Europe ever converts and everyone is considered to be stuck with their religion for life (even if they turn atheist). So yes such a church is something you won't find likely outside of the US (and I suppose Canada, Australia and South Africa.)

I've never attended a particularly liberal congregation, but that sounds completely normal to me.

I go to a “liberal” Baptist church. We watched a scene in Psycho before. And comparisons to Longshanks from Braveheart are quite frequent at my church for some reason. Rick Scott was compared to Emperor Decius.

Well since I don't know much about either God or pop culture, it's all Greek to me.
