Depends on who identifies themselves as independents on election day. I think polls might be underpolling independent minorities.

Who knows. Loads of Republicans call themselves independents these days because of the Tea Party.

This is so true. How do I know, because I'm one of them 😀

Most likely, indepedents will stay home or vote for Romney.

If they are not enthused by the time of Obama's debate performance, then that was the nail in the coffin to get their vote.

There have been 4 years for independent voters to commit to Obama, if someone needs 4 more weeks to make up their mind about Obama, then that voter is either really lazy, doesn't care about politics, or basically angry with Obama but uncommitted to any other candidate.

Same, at least for conversation purposes. Romney +7-8 with independents on election day. That's not enough to seal it, this race is coming down to turnout.

Probably Romney, but only by a few points.
