There has been a lot of discussion about "Candidate X" faltering or inevitably winning. A lot of that discussion has been frantic and utterly pointless. In fact, this thread only adds to the mess but I'd like to think it is slightly more constructive than some others.

Here's the deal:

"Candidate X" should not be written off. Whether you support the President or the Governor there is a chance that either could win. If you're supporting a third party candidate, then, welp, sorry but this year is not your year.

"Candidate X" has not locked up the toss up states. There is a thread roaming around pretty much writing off half of the tossup states. They are still toss up states.

"Candidate X" can still have a rise/fall in the polls. There are 3 more debates and 27 days of opportunities to screw up or win this thing.


I also propose a few stickied threads, so we can get rid of the mess:

#1: "OMG Obama is going to win/OMG Romney is going to lose"
#2: "OMG Romney is going to win/OMG Obama is going to lose"

If its a targeted discussion, thats fine --thats what the board is for. But every other thread is "Does 'unimportant variable' lead to demise Candidate X" and its getting sillier rather than more intelligent."
