Nah... the upper-middle class suburbs were always for Romney and haven't changed. The lower-middle class suburbs were for Obama four years ago and actually have not moved all that much.
NJ is interesting in the fact that lower-middle class votes just as much on core economic issues as the upper middle class, just for the opposite side. It's not like out in the Midwest where the GOP likes to play to social conservatism. Social issues (with the lone exception of gun control) matter very little in the state, we typically tune it out unless it's extreme. That's why you've seen so many statewide NJ elections end up 55-44 for the Dems in recent years. It's simply the Democratic economic plan vs. the Republican economic plan and NJ voters rarely factor in anything else.
And what do you know...? it would be 55-44 Obama according to this poll.
