as you may or may not know, the Ryder Cup is an international golf tournament pitting the US v. the EU.

the EU recently "won" in 2012 with a tied score of 14-14, winning the tiebreak by virtue of being the defending champion, having won in 2010.

the presidency should be decided in the same way.  instead of having Congress determine president/VP, the party that won the last election should hold the tiebreak in event of no electoral majority.

Of course you argue that now, but would you have argued that in 2004 or 2008?

The current way makes most sense in that respect, as the members of Congress who were just elected make the decision.

in fact, Europe won 14,5 to 13,5 due to Tiger woods conceding the draw against his opponent.

EDIT: and it was a fabulous ryder cup with Europe came back from nowhere. A little like Mitt Romney maybe... Wink
