not likely. The only scenario where this could happen is if Obama won the PV but lost the EV and there was evidence of voter suppression, especially in minority precincts in a state like OH or FL

Godless bands of rednecks will be coming to my neighborhood in their pickup trucjs, flying Confederate Battle Flags, Gretchen Wilson blaring from radios, and yelling "yee-haw" while they carry off our women.  Perish the thought.  Roll Eyes

Phily girls...been there...done that...not making that mistake. They can be hell on heels..

But hmmmm...either rate, no matter what happens, as long as it wasn't an expected "fair and square" outcome, I would definitely get used to this...

Riot riots?  No.

Protests?  Only if Obama loses (college students protest, rural + suburban adults generally don't) and there is perceived to be "funny business" that actually does look serious.  No "the Kochs bought the election" or anything so tame.

There will be protests at the inauguration.

When Obama loses, I think riots are a virtual certainty.

I don't.  There is substantially less enthusiasm in the African American community for Obama.  Most of what I've seen is older people wearing Obama gear.

I'm trying to find a community where there is a lot of enthusiasm.

Ah, you've personally seen less "Obama gear"? Sounds like a very scientific way of measuring enthusiasm. I'm sure Naso would approve. Tongue

If Obama wins the popular vote but loses in the electoral college, that'd probably be the worst possible situation. I don't think riots would be a certainty but I wouldn't exactly want to be hanging out in Harlem that night.

Riots are more likely in the event of an Obama loss simply because Romney voters are too old to riot.  I do fear for Obama's safety in a 2nd term, however, especially in a close election.
