The State of Victoria has abolished the provocation defence. Whilst I believe it was overused, I also believe it was necessary. They are thinking about introducing a "Battered Woman" law, but I feel that it is unfair to acknowledge that a woman can be provocated but not a male. Provocation does take many more forms then just bashing someone up, anyway.

What are your thoughts?

Excellent move!  Hard to believe this kind of nonsense survived on the lawbooks till 2005.
