Expectations Game:

Who do you think will do the better job in the (second) debate?

Obama 41%
Romney 37%

http://www.people-press.org/2012/10/15/voters-divided-over-who-will-win-second-debate/

So no clear favorite this time, apparently.

Intrade:

Barack Obama to win the second Presidential debate (according to CNN poll) 60.5% CHANCE

Mitt Romney to win the second Presidential debate (according to CNN poll) 42.5% CHANCE

Considering that even Ryan edged out Biden in the CNN Poll in the last debate, there's probably almost no chance of Obama winning based on this metric. Buy Romney!

I'll be watching C-SPAN so I don't have to look at the annoying squiggles.

I can't wait to hear a bunch of people here (coughJJBushOklahomacough) cite them relentlessly like they're manna from heaven.

Not.

Now, if Obama loses the CBS Poll by a big margin, you know he's boned. Tongue

I suspect that live debate watchers are also a bit older and therefore more GOP than voters in general. So that probably is reflected in the CNN poll. That being said, do they call cell phones?

The last CNN Poll did reflect a very Republican-leaning audience (R+2). Not sure about the cell phones.

Wow, Obama has cut down on the "uhs" and the halting speech in a big, big way. Good start.

Romney seems a bit aggravated, but he's doing alright otherwise.

Obama is way, way, way better this time.

What is the fantacism with Intrade?  Intrade does not determine an election...

This from the guy who updates us on squiggly lines every other minute... Tongue

Both up evenly on In Trade now... so this debate is a wash, as I expected.

Not now!

Just saying.

Larry J. Sabato: "I finally get it. Obama has a fraternal twin. Two different Obama's, one for each debate."

Heh.

Obama: "Romney, you're actually a lot worse than Bush".

Oh god, love it!

Wow, neither Obama or Romney are good at showing empathy. At all.

Both flubbed the black dude's question, IMO.

Obama, tag in Bill!

That's what cost Obama the slight advantage he had in my book.

Romney handled the question even more poorly though.

Barack, quit smiling.  You look arrogant (which you are).

Dude, he hardly smiled at all in the first debate and everyone whined about it. Of course he's going to smile.

Irrelevant. Obama lost because his record is abysmal. End of, really. Romney now has the momentum because of that, and he's continued that theme, even if Obama speaks more smoothly.

Election is over. Mitt will be the next president.

Okay buddy.

Obama: "I don't look at my pension all of the time, it's not nearly as big as yours."

Crowd erupts into laughs.

Romney just got destroyed. By the moderator, not Obama. Moment of the debate, I think.

The Obama people are going to dance their way into the spin room after this one. Hell, he might even have a shot at the CNN Poll after this one.

The Romney people are already preparing a press release attacking Candy Crowley.

MSNBC: Giddy.

Fox: Pissed

CNN: Being weirdly neutral. Obama probably won but Romney had another strong debate too!!!
