I refuse to eat from a salad bar or buffet anymore. People pick at stuff, and their germs and funk get all over it. Ugh, that's just to gross for me. I know those things are possible when someone in the kitchen prepares anything for me, but at least I cant see it.

^^^this.  Gross.

Something more ethnic I could probably try, or something more expensive.. somewhere that I know some slob isn't going to take a bite of something, or pick it up and put it back. The only place I tend to go is at a chinese/japanese place, because I can keep going up when the sushi and sushmi are made and get it fresh, and cheap.

Stay away from Chinese buffets, especially the ones with crab legs and ice cream on the bar! The only buffet I like is the sunday jazz brunch buffet with all you can eat oysters on the halfshell for $39 at one of the hotels here in town.

And for steak: http://hallschophouse.com

Oh c'mon Dukey, you and the country club crowd love your elegant buffets Tongue

On the topic of "fancy" buffets, I feel compelled to comment. The New Orleans Harrah's Casino Christmas buffet was disgusting! In one of the best culinary towns in America. It was like eating in an old folks home. Lesson learned.

You should have went to Besh's Steahouse at Harrah's Smiley  My daughter is a chef at one of his other restaurants.

1.25 miles means you can never miss a day due to weather.  K? Thx.

Gramps and BRTD, when in that post did I say I would miss because of weather?  I can't find it.  But, as always, you twist my words around.  What I did say is I would attempt to go to work, but would be a nervous wreck all the way there.  That is NOT the same thing as missing work.  The only reason I am off today is because of the call volume.

I know why you're off.  I just want you to resist temptation on other days when you're not.  Tongue

I will find out Monday afternoon if I have an interview for that position.  Its a little farther of a drive, but still not too bad.  I would probably know within 48 hours of the interview whether I have the position and would likely start as early as Monday, January 21 or 28, 2013.  I just took a brief phone interview with them and she is forwarding me on to the hiring supervisor, in which I will likely have an in person interview  It is a 6-month contract to hire which means I would be on permanent by the end of July or August.

Call center?  Did the current place give you notice you're being let go?

However, I've got something else that I just threw in the cooker.  I'm not going to spill any beans just yet, but I've got a possibility lurking.  The only thing I will say about it for now is that it will require extensive traveling over the Western United States.  Stay tuned.

The theme for this new season

What type of church only has mass in the morning?

Probably not one that Bushie would go to even if he didn't stay up late, since he's not Catholic and doesn't attend mass.

Tons of Catholic Churches have mass at six on Sunday, or late the day before me.

Correct. We are the convenient church. But let's not stray from the subject. BushOK can't dodge this one.

Considering I am not going to church until six today, meaning that I will probably be at least slightly buzzed when I do so, you are not "the" convenient church.

Shut up. Seriously, shut up. You have eighteen other threads to go on whining about the Catholc Church. Don't take it here, too.

Yeah, BRTD the king of douchy posts and threads wants J.J. banned.....ha.  Roll Eyes

You think this is a joke, friend? When was the last time you missed church?

I was sick last Sunday, so actually I've missed two Sundays in a row.

You forgot to count the snow days.

Actually, if you're sore, don't push it. You risk injury. Your body has to rest eventually. At last, that is the way I do things when lifting.

That's a good idea.  I'll just do a light routine tonight.

Or you can stop being such a p#ssy and go work out.

FTW!

One step at a time. He's still learning how to drink water.

That one baffles me....

I love sweet tea though. That's my biggest weakness. And diet coke. I am such a bad influence.

You're also over 100 pound less than him.  It's cool.

It looks like my trip to Kenya has been rescheduled for June 20-30.  I have time to schedule the leave.  It will have been six months since my Christmas vacation, and I don't plan to take any time off until then, so I should be fine.

You'll be fired for taking off for 10 days this soon.

At least we're going back to the plot arc where he starts referring to himself as an African and that he's about to "go home to Africa."

He won't have a job waiting here, so he might as well go "home".

Well, to be fair, it's absurd that you apparently have to fear losing your job for taking a 10 day vacation in the States.

But that's the way it is, and it seems like he's going to need a new job every year if he insists on taking all this time off.

Wait, the enlightened German world allows that long of a break within 6 months of getting a job?

Not entirely sure, I think the vacation entitlement begins after 6 months. Which is 4 weeks a year, so I think Bushie would actually be entitled to half that after working for half a year.

Eh, it doesnt matter. He'll be at a different company by that point.

IIRC he quit a job by taking unauthorized time off.......he'll do it again.

Guys, we may not all enjoy it but every man must eat his Honey nut cheerios now and again....

The cheat snacks part is more disconcerting.
