So, my plans for Tuesday are set:  Here goes:

2:30 am - Wake Up
3:00 am - Turn on to CNN
5:00 am - Breakfast
6:45 am - Leave for Precinct
7:00 am - Vote
7:30 am - Continue with CNN
11:00 am - Lunch
3:00 pm - Activate the DVR
4:00 pm - Start watching returns
3:00 am Wednesday - Go to Bed

So wait, after you get back from voting, you're going to watch TV all day other than a break for lunch?  Or are there other, hidden, items on the agenda?  I mean, how does "start watching returns" differ from your CNN watching earlier in the day?

You're going to the airport 15 hours early because of a measly 5" of snow?

How long of a drive is it to the airport anyway?  (under good weather conditions)

Wait, did I miss something here?  Does Bushie actually eat 3 meals a day at McDonald's?

Ahem... You looked at the wrong menu items.  I always get 2 bacon, egg, & cheese biscuits for breakfast and a Double Quarter w/ cheese.  Since they took away my Diet Dr Pepper, I have to get a Coke.  I havent developed a taste for Diet Coke.
This is VanderBlubb hacking his account, right? I was really feeling sorry for Bushie until I read this.

Come on guys, I was trying to be funny.  Of course I don't eat at Mickeys all 3 meals.  I was just mmentioning what I usually get when I do go.  Learn to take a joke.

Out of curiosity, what do you eat for breakfast and lunch on a normal workday?  Because I normally just have cereal (not the super sugary kind) for breakfast, then make a sandwich and eat that and an apple for lunch (sometimes substitute grapes or something in place of the apple).  I have no idea how many calories that is, but can't be that huge an amount.  Dinner's the only meal that I cook (or go out to a restaurant for, on the occasions when I do that).

Are you consuming a lot of calories already with breakfast and lunch, or is it mostly dinner + snacks?

With your job so close, you should walk or bike to work.

Indeed.  1.25 miles is nothing.  Ideally, Bushie should either be walking or biking to and from work every day that the weather doesn't preclude it.  Or at the very least, if it's on a bus route, walk one way and take the bus back the other way or vice versa.

It looks like Valentine's Day 2013 merchandise is already coming out. I'm really not surprised, though. We are less than 2 months from Valentine's Day. In the commercial industry, Christmas ends on or about December 15 not December 25. They'll gear up for the returns and exchanges on December 26, but they'll go straight into Valentine's Day and even grills, tractors, and fertilizer. Also, since Easter is in March this year, look for Easter merchandise to come very soon.

OK... you go out to the mall on December 24 and tell me they're not still busy beyond belief with last-minute shoppers.

IIRC, the biggest shopping day of the year tends to be Dec. 23 (though it depends on what day of the week Christmas lands on).

In any case, I don't think that's what Bushie meant.  He wasn't talking about Christmas presents.  He was (I think) talking about the holiday themed merchandise.  That is, Christmas decorations and the like.  While the shopping for presents might peak on Dec. 23, I presume that the sales for the decorations and such would peak considerably earlier than that, though I have no idea how much earlier.

I believe that my ex-fiancee's daughter is my third cousin once removed.  Her dad's brother-in-law is a grandson of a couple that is my grandfather's first cousin.  That would make the uncle's parent and my mother second cousins and the uncle and myself third cousins.  Since the daughter is a generation removed that adds in the once removed.

I don't understand.  From the way you describe the relationship, it doesn't sound like there's any blood relationship here at all, neither to your ex-fiancee, nor to her husband.  So no incest, and no issues if you'd gotten married.

You're saying that there's some guy (let's call him Bob) who is the grandson of "a couple that is my grandfather's first cousin".  That makes Bob your third cousin.  So you're blood relatives with Bob, albeit distantly.  You're saying that Bob married a woman whose brother married your ex-fiancee?  I'm sorry, but that means that you're not blood related to either your ex-fiancee or her husband, or their kid.  The only relationship is via marriage.  And if you'd married your ex-fiancee rather than Bob's brother in law, then there wouldn't even be that.

As for the incest... can you draw us a chart of the relationship?  I can never get these stupid second cousin-twice-removed crap things figured out.  Too freaking complicated.

A chart is too complicated.  Here's a quick rundown of the relevant relationships (with made up names):

Bushie & Bob = third cousins (that is, they have one set of great grandparents in common…..and thus 1/128th of their DNA is the same)
Bob & Alice = married
Alice & Charles = sister/brother
Charles & Susan = married
Bushie & Susan = formerly engaged

Thus Bushie is "related" to his former fiancee Susan if you use a somewhat preposterous definition of being related.  You have to go through two marriages to get the relation.  By that definition, and by the loose relations involved here, going back three generations to include third cousins, each of us is probably related to hundreds of thousands of people alive today.

The only person in the above list who's a blood relative of Bushie is Bob (again, a name I invented since I don't know the real name), and a distant blood relative at that.

Maybe it's a rural or "middle America" thing? I don't know. But having lived in three liberal, urban cities in my life, finding self-serve salad bars in restaurants has been a rarity. I find that they're much more common when I'm visiting other places.

Perhaps a rich state / poor state thing, seeing as how poor states are more likely to be Republican?

FYI, 11 bucks in Queens is like making 6 bucks an hour. You couldn't afford it, and you couldn't deal with the people. They would eat you alive.

He could afford it if, rather than rent his own apartment, every NYC area Atlasian agreed to host Bushie on an intermittent basis....say one week at a time, and then alternate to the next person on the list.  It would be Update's own spinoff reality show.

Alright, alright, you caught me red handed.  I took off an hour early at 12:30 today for involuntary VTO as one of those 4 slots that were offered.

"involuntary voluntary time off"?  How is something involuntary voluntary?  Is that like being "anti-pro-heterosexual"?

I love you and I love our loving relationship. I hope we can adopt African children one day.

You should adopt Bushie's kids before he can get to them.  Wink

I believe all the "girls" here have penises, no?

Politicus and BeccaM don't....unless you're one of the BeccaM truthers, who don't believe she's really a woman.

We need to really strike at the root of this "porn addiction" thing? How often do you watch it, Bushie?

It's possible that Bushie thinks Sports Illustrated's suimsuit edition qualifies as porn.

He might consider 1:15-1:20 of this video to be porn:

Bushie, whatever happened to your stated desire to follow Kenyan sports, weather, and news?  Are you still doing that?  Do you still consider yourself "Kenyan" in the same way that you said you did last year?

Did we ever establish how these kids feel about a white man showing up and suddenly calling himself their father because he gives them $30 a month? This whole plot arc fascinates me.

They seem cool with him calling himself "father", but AFAIK, he hasn't told them that he would actually like to legally adopt them:

Odds on someone starting a "Who is more African?  Bushie or Simfan?" poll within the next 48 hours?

So having a Kenyan* president in the USA has excited you so much that right after he leaves office, you're going to move to Kenya itself?

* This is a joke.
