If you seriously are having troubles in Utah for personal reasons.....you should really realize that moving to Kenya would be a complete and utter disaster.

Seriously, why do you always do these time plans?

1) I enjoy time, clocks, and calendars.  2) OCD.   3) I talked with the director of Maisha over the phone Thursday and that was the timeline she mentioned.  The volunteer home is scheduled to be start sometime in 2015, probably our summer time (their winter).  It took 8 months for the first project to be built from the ground up (a medical clinic) to completion, so I figure if it is started in August 2015, it will be completed by April-May 2016.

If you're certain that you want to move to Kenya....why not go immediately? I don't understand the whole "I'm certain that I'll go in 4 years, 5 months, 2 weeks, 5 days and 8 hours" thing.

I have not found a bride, but I am going to continue to refer to myself as their father.

Not trying to be too negative....but what basis do you have for considering yourself their father? Other than that you want to be?

Has anybody else had the experience of a job lying about pay, even once? I never have.

Nope.....he either didn't bother to look into the details, or, now don't fall over.......he's lying.

Odds he goes back to Oklahoma before his lease is over?

It is 2:30 am MST and I have been awake for two hours.  Why?  I am trying to adjust my body to going to bed late and getting up early for the next 3 days in advance of Election Day.  Today, I went to bed at 12:00 am MDT and got up at 12:30 MST (1 1/2 hours).  Tonight, I will go to bed around 10:00 pm MST and wake up on Election Eve at 3:00 am MST.  Tomorrow night, I will go to bed by 9:30 pm MST and wake up Tuesday by 2:00 am.  I will then go to bed around 6:00 am Wednesday.

You're insane.

So you gave 2 weeks notice and they told you to GTFO now?  So no pay for those 2 weeks eh?

Correct. Sad

Be honest.....you were fired, right?

They called it "restructuring".  Whatever.

Ah, but you gave 2 weeks notice. Got it.

I might be missing something, but why on earth are you getting up at 2:30 in the morning on Election Day? Huh

I want to miss none of the conversation.  The Vermont polls open at 3:00 am MST, and I want to be awake the entire time all the polls in all 50 states are open.   So, to accomodate that, I will probably get up at 1:30 instead of 2:30, so I can start the day off right - in prayer and in a Bible Study with my God.

What "conversation"? I mean...do whatever you want, but I don't see what interesting things you're going to learn 1 or 2 hours after polls open.

What motivates you to lie so often?

Why not just keep your entire life story to yourself if you're uncomfortable telling the truth?

Losing weight is a primary concern.....limiting calories is the primary way of achieving this goal, etc etc., but this isn't the only thing that's relevant.

Living a healthy lifestyle, all in all, is more important in the long-term than being able to claim 20 lbs. less than your record weight. And living a healthy lifestyle includes things like physical activity, limiting the amount of junk food (fast food) you consume....and you have to really want these things. You have to want to be healthy.

Doesn't mean you shouldn't have the occassional hamburger and a beer, but it's rather telling that you can't walk across an airport building because you're out of "energy"....when you have 15 hours to make the long journey back and forth.

How do you plan on supporting yourself?

I imagine the Lord will provide?

How do you plan on supporting yourself?

I will be working for Maisha, and while it is mostly volunteer, they will provide the basics such shelter and food.

That is someone else supporting you, not supporting yourself.

Isn't that the same thing though? He works, he gets compensation.

I see it more as an allowence.

I agree with Bushie this time actually. It's not any different than if a woman becomes a nun and is "cared for" by the convent, for example.

(Not to say I believe the whole Kenya thing will work for him, I don't.)

Jeff, to show I'm sincere in trying to help you, I'll make you a deal.  Anything that you buy and cook yourself (so if you make mashed potatoes, you have to buy actual potatoes, not that instant stuff), I will personally pay for.  I'll even throw in canned cranberry sauce, since that can't be easy to make (although I'd advocate for the alternative: cranberry relish, which is phenomenal).  I'm serious - anything that you buy for Thanksgiving and cook yourself, I'll send you a check to pay for.  If you want lobster, go out and get lobster.  I'll pay for it.  But you have to cook it yourself.

Don't waste your money...

Not a bad recipe, Snowguy.  I will definitely be trying a few recipes in December and especially after the first of the year.

Why after the 1st of the year, out of interest? Does it take that amount of time to get used to the foreign concept?

I'm going to start in December, but I guess you didn't read that.  I'm going to wait until January to get started full force so I can get the holidays behind me.

Still doesn't explain why you postpone such "inconvenient" things.

And once again, calories are important....but you need a lifestyle change. Parking at the back of the parking lot to get exercise is some of the biggest bulls**t I've ever read
