The cesarian scene in Prometheus does not count.

I smell our latest ban just around the corner.

Also, Walsh is out on his ass come the 6th. No issue.

My point is, the left wants to claim things are "outrageous," but offer no contrary example supporting why.  I'm open to the prospects that there are those instances....but when, where, what are the circumstances, and what are the rates.  It's possible that the answers to those questions reveal something is not "outrageous" merely because one says so.

Ectopic pregnancies, when the embryo develops inside one of the fallopian tubes. Can cause the tube to burst once the fetus becomes larger and cause internal hemorrhaging and maybe death.

This may be one of the funniest things I've ever read in my entire life.

Possibly.  And I could choke to death when I eat a Whopper, too....but show me where it happens.  The USA Today story cited above is a valid example.  Is it a sufficient event to warrant a policy?  I'm not sure.  I'm not sure that we make many policies on the basis of what might, or could, happen under extremely rare circumstances.

It's still saying something awful about abortion though.

True, my mistake.  I was getting so used to seeing appalling comments from Republicans about rape, I had neglected to notice that this was in fact a similar but separate frontline of the GOP War on Women.

Before his election to the US version, he served for almost thirty years in the Irish Dáil and twice as Minister for Agriculture.

He also served a stint as my cousin.

The gross ignorance that Republican politicians often have in regards to the workings of the female body shouldn't astonish me anymore, but alas it still does.

It will be truly lovely to see Joe Walsh out of Congress.  Now if only the same thing would happen to Steve King, Michele Bachmann and Allen West ...

These Republicans are not going to stop saying such horrible things and generally being political trolls anytime soon, because by saying such horrible things, they get their "base" riled up, but even more importantly, they intimidate/disgust a lot of people so much, that those people would rather sit out than deal with a poisoned well.

I don't see why we should let this one pass.

Oh you're not sure, eh ? What about any industrial, agroalimentary, safety, product-using regulations ?

What about safety procedures in nuclear plants ? Are you not sure we make them on the basis of what might, or could, happen under extremely rare circumstances ?

Give us your enlighting explanation on those, please ?

I wouldn't say he said anything awful about rape.

Maybe unscientifically true about saving the life of the mother, but not rape.

It's 2012.  You think withholding chemo from someone with cancer is a good idea?  Why do you think women are advised to get Pap Smears BEFORE they get pregnant?  Just because you decided to register as a Republican doesn't mean we are required to force feed you an entire medical school curriculum before you vote.  Befriend a woman and they will clue you in to why their lives are so tough.  You my friend are a glorious example of why men should have zero say when it comes to women's health issues.

I'm not sure that we make many policies on the basis of what might, or could, happen under extremely rare circumstances.

You think cervical cancer is "extremely rare?!"  Well if your right wing clown friends win their war on condoms, planned parenthood, sexual education, and HPV vaccines it certainly won't be any kind of "rare."
