Still closer than I'd like.

I am amazed Mandel is getting anywhere near 45%, he is a thoroughly terrible candidate, even setting ideology aside. He looks like a 12 year old playing a part, hasn't a care in the world for his present job, and has run an awful campaign. I imagine if he wasn't getting propped up by literal f**ktons of money and outside groups, he'd be stuck in the sub-40% range. He's a sacrificial lamb that's getting lucky.

I'm not worried about him winning or anything but for whatever reason it pisses me off that he even has a tiny chance. He hasn't done anything on his own to deserve it. If he gets above 45% on election day I'll almost feel like it's a moral defeat.

Especially because Brown is actually a very good senator.

Mandel must be the love child of Tracy Flick and Tommy Thompson.

This is an election I don't really understand...I don't know a single person who is voting Romney/Brown (or Obama/Mandel), but the polls seem to suggest Mandel is somehow running behind Romney. I'm still rooting very much for Mandel, but it seems somewhat unlikely he'll win. If he comes within a 5% margin after trailing by double-digits for much of the campaign, it'll help his career along, and that'll be nice, at least.

I wonder if Mandel's being Jewish hurts him at the margins with some religious voters. He doesn't "share their values."
