As of today, Tuesday, October 23, 2012

Rassy puts Romney up 4 - 50-46

Gallup put Romney up 5 - 51-46

ABC/WaPo put Romney up 1 - 49-48

All three of these polls were prior to the 3rd debate.

And the aggregates of national polling currently show as many with Obama ahead as Romney ahead, and most are completely or at least largely pre-3rd debate. There's nothing to this cheaply attempted spin.

Umm, Bushie, you're aware we having a polling board right? All of these are being discussed there along with several polls that show Obama ahead or the two of them tied.

Actually it brings up an interesting observation - make of it what you will...

The polls showing Romney leading clearly are pushing their leaners hard.  Just adding the numbers to find the Other/Undecided (O/U) remainders:

Rasmussen R50 O46 = 4 O/U
ABC WaPo R49 O48 = 3 O/U
Gallup R51 O46 = 3 O/U

Meanwhile the strong Obama polls...

IBD/TIPP O47 R45 = 8 O/U
CBS O48 R46 = 6 O/U
NBC/WSJ O47 R47 = 6 O/U

Here is a thought, maybe Romney is winning the national polls, but that don't matter, he is losing the EV numbers...

I think it's relatively clear, unfortunately, that Romney is currently winning the national popular vote. I'm relatively optimistic, however, that 1.) it won't stay that way over the next 2 weeks, and that 2.) Romney's getting lots of votes where he doesn't need them.
