PublicPolicyPolling
@ppppolls
Our new Virginia poll for @HCAN finds Barack Obama leading Mitt Romney 51-46 there.

Obama seems to have received a debate bounce in VA, 5 point lead there now is up from 2 pts last weekend.

PublicPolicyPolling @ppppolls
Obama's net favorability in Virginia is up 7 pts and Mitt Romney's is down 7 pts from our last poll.

PublicPolicyPolling @ppppolls
Virginia voters trust Obama over Romney on standing up for middle class (52/44) and protecting Medicare (50/46).

Obama's up 57/41 with women, 88/8 with African Americans, and 53/42 with young voters in Virginia.

PublicPolicyPolling @ppppolls
Romney leads 50/45 with men, 57/41 with whites, and 57/41 with seniors in Virginia

This can't be true. J.J. has been telling us that Virginia is basically out of reach for Obama.

I guess Romney's promise for more ships is a sinker after all.

Yeah, that is a really stupid comment.

NC is barely lean Romney, so how the hell is VA and FL completely gone for Obama?

That's really interesting. Rasmussen's post-debate polls in NH and OH showed that there is no indication of a bounce for Obama, and now this. It remains to be seen who is right here.

I bolded, italicized, and underlined the operative word in your post.

You don't know much about Nevada polling, apparently.

I have a hard time believing any polls. Most just push results that show their guy winning..

You know that you need to add 6 to 8 to Obama to the polling difference in NV right ? It's been like that in 2008, in 2010, should well be in 2012. So, no, NV is still more D than VA, but they both will be D. Smiley

That's another reason why I don't believe any polls...

PPP was right on in 2008 and a point off in 2009. They have the state down to a science.

This could indicate that President Obama has finally undone most of the damage that happened to his campaign after the first debate. Mitt Romney hurt himself badly by showing that he knows little on foreign policy.

What PPP shows in Virginia is what many other polls show -- that the 2012 election if held today would be statistically indistinguishable from the results of 2008.
