Looks like Romney still has a lot of fighting to do for this one.

Romney can win without OH. And he can win without VA. He can't win without Florida.

You can just say "Ohhh PPP did something I like" one day, then call them corrupt hacks the next.

EACH of these polls, especially when they've got a decent track record needs to be considered in the context of all the others.

PPP has now polled all nine battlegrounds in the last week and Obama leads in all but NC where race is tied.

Naturally, Rasmussen disagrees. They say Obama only leads in NV. Romney leads in FL, VA, NC, NH and CO with WI, IA and OH tied.

The only state where they both agree is Obama is ahead in NV.

North Carolina you can say is firmly in Romney's camp absent a huge upset. But you can't say the same thing about Florida, and that should scare the heck out of the Romney campaign. This is a state, given Romney's lead in the national polls, that he should be running away with.

So Mason-Dixon claims Florida is basically Romney's to win and now PPP says this. I'm not sure what to believe anymore.

I've been arguing that the correct answer is none of them, considering how different many of the pollster's methodologies are... a lot of this is noise, good and bad... and we'll have to see how it all ends up.

Scott only has this at 50-48 Romney. Not a huge difference in the grand scheme of things, and indicates a rough tie. Which is really not what Romney needs in Florida right now.

Even if some pollsters have been monkeying with bias all year long, this is the week that they would reset things to be as good as they can be. These last polls are the ones by which they will be judged.

This actually makes me more nervous that there is a house effect, and our numbers aren't as good in OH as PPP portrays.

Then again, Gravis and Ras have pretty similar numbers.

I think they may have Obama's % correct but not the rest. Possible he loses FL by 1 and takes VA, OH by 2.

Doesn't surprise me.

The numbers do matchup with Rasmussen numbers from early this week. FL is still a toss up, there is a reason Obama is still campaigning there.

Florida is a dead-heat. It's going to be one of the closest states. The idea that this state was safe Romney was always ridiculous. I've been saying that for a while now.

PPP just tweeted that the raw breakdown was 335 respondents for Obama and 332 for Romney.

What's even more surprising is Romney gets 10% of the black vote to O's 89%.
