"...with all provisional ballots in Ohio recounted, we can project the state to President-Elect Mitt Romney by a mere 4,733 votes. As he had already reached the minimum 270, this is a mere formality, but it does mean that Ohio's winning streak continues. Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown will win the state by around 5%..."

Barack Obama of Illinois/Joe Biden of Delaware-249 electoral votes, 48.7%

The Romney Administration

President: Willard Romney
Vice President: Paul Ryan
Secretary of State: Joe Lieberman
Secretary of the Treasury: Meg Whitman
Secretary of Defense: Jim Talent
Attorney General:  Bob McDonnell
Secretary of the Interior: Luis Fortuņo
Secretary of Agriculture: Adam Putnam
Secretary of Commerce: Tom Stemberg
Secretary of Labor: Bill Kilberg
Secretary of Health & Human Services: Tim Murphy
Secretary of Housing & Urban Development: Rick Lazio
Secretary of Transportation: Kay Bailey Hutchison
Secretary of Energy: James Connaughton
Secretary of Education: Michelle Rhee
Secretary of Veterans Affairs: Bob Kerrey
Secretary of Homeland Security: Frances Townsend

The cabinet, though mostly partisan (and with several bones to the base), included two Democrats and an independent. On the foreign policy front, some critics noted several returners from the Bush administration. The Romney administration endorsed a future plan to abolish the Commerce Department, dividing some responsibilities to other departments, while other administrations from both Commerce and other non-Cabinet agencies would make up a new Department of Business.

Though the Romney administration had been set, Barack Obama was still the president for over two more months, and he intended to use them well.

Interesting. That closing line is certainly effective. Tongue

Think of it as a hint of the Romney administration's foreign policy...

And a foreshadowing of the Republican party falling once again.

Give poor long-suffering Rick Lazio something to end his woes? Rhee's a Dem, I doubt she'd take it. And there's a 100% chance that Glenn Hubbard is Treasury in a Romney administration.

Now that Romney has no chance of winning, I will continue this as alternate history. Smiley
