There's no reason to like a pollster. There is plenty of reason to like the Republican surge in North Carolina early voting.

SUSA sucks in North Carolina. Remember their Romney +10 earlier in the year? Both campaigns believe this state is a pure toss-up.

This is the upper-edge of Romney's margin.

Probably about right, NC might've flirted with Obama again but it was always going to swing late for Romney

Before the GOP falls in love with SurveyUSA, check tonight's Ohio poll. And maybe yesterday's Florida.

Obama won NC by less than 1% in 2008 and that was while he was winning the country by over 7% - it makes sense that given that the national popular vote is looking to be close to a dead heat - NC should be Romney "lowest hanging fruit". If he only wins it by 5% that suggests he will lose Virginia where Obama won by 7% as opposed to his 0.01% margin in NC.

This is probably close to being right.  I have the Obama ground game getting this one to about 51-47 in the end, if not, ever so slightly closer.

There is only so much Obama's ground game can do. NC was only going to be competitive in a race where Obama had a small national lead at least.

Probably accurate. If Obama carries NC again, he's won the election by a substantial margin.

Or they no longer use the old-fashioned mechanical ones with hands. Tongue
